Another Thornwatch OC… I think I have a problem.

The Hedge SisterDaughters of Eyrewood come when called, it is, quite literally, a law of nature. Some girls embrace their gifts, they sing, dance and delicately arrange their florid hair, others reject the calling and try to run away, but those are always taken eventually, but the story never ends there. The Daughters have a job to do, not unlike the Lookouts, and eventually they grow and gather strength, taking root and becoming maidens, mothers, and eventually perhaps, crones. This one had reached the full flower of her youth when she first saw a Winter King. The great pale hunter was chasing something in the cold and snowy night. It was a boy, not only a boy but a Lookout. She saw fear in the boy’s eyes and knew he was lost. She knew other things too, like his favorite color, favorite food and favorite bedtime story, for this boy was once her brother. In a life long ago. In a moment he saw her too and stumbled. So then did the Winter King pounce, and so the hunt was done. The Daughter’s eyes went wide and she felt a blow in her chest. She could have helped the boy, hidden him, comforted him, and taken him to his brothers, but she did none of this. "You have done the right thing," The voice of the wood whispered in her heart, "Predator consumed prey, such is the way of the Wood." it said, "You have no need for brothers!" it shouted But by then she had already killed the Winter King. Her hands red with blood, she tore at the branches in her hair. She would eventually find the Thornwatch, and through her actions she would save hundreds of lost souls. She’d find friends, allies and even love among the oathbreakers. All these things would come, in time, but on this cold and bloody winter night; the Daughter simply wept.Deviantart Link: http://skyserpent.deviantart.com/art/Daughters-of-Thornwatch-401695849
